Already have settings that work on your press? Keep using them. Every heat press and fabric behaves differently, so the settings on this page are what we run in our own workshop, shared for reference.

Application workflow
Six steps from garment to finished print.
- 01
Check the garment
Read the garment care label and confirm it can tolerate the required heat. Test unfamiliar, coated, treated or heat-sensitive fabrics first.
- 02
Prepare the press area
Use a clean, stable heat press. Keep seams, collars, pockets, zips and raised panels away from the application area where possible.
- 03
Pre-press the garment
Remove moisture and flatten the print area. Keep this step short on heat-sensitive fabrics.
- 04
Position and press
Place the transfer flat, align it to the intended position and press at the settings you trust for this garment. Our workshop settings above are there if you need a reference.

Hot peel
Both DTF and DTP are hot peel. Peel smoothly and avoid stretching the garment.
- 06
Second press and inspect
Give the print a second press (in our workshop: 5 seconds for DTF, 4 seconds for DTP). Check edges, fine detail and adhesion before continuing the run.
Before volume
Approve one complete result first.
Before pressing the batch, run one representative garment through the full process: press, hot peel, second press and inspection.
- Same garment style and print location
- Same carrier: DTF film or DTP paper
- Temperature, time and pressure recorded
- Edges and fine detail inspected after pressing
- Continue only when the result is acceptable
If the result is not right
Check the process before pressing more garments.
Pause the run. Keep the transfer and garment, record the settings used and check the process before adding more heat.
An edge lifts after peeling
Check the peel, even pressure and full contact across the artwork. Raised garment areas can stop the press from closing evenly.
The carrier resists or pulls detail
Stop peeling. Check that the carrier, garment and press made full, even contact during the press. Both DTF and DTP are hot peel.
The garment shows heat marks
Stop the run and review garment heat tolerance, press surface and settings. Test any adjustment on a spare garment first.
Part of the print looks different
Check for uneven pressure, moisture, seams beneath the platen or movement during pressing.
After application
Care for the finished garment.
Follow the garment care label and avoid harsh treatment. If a process is unusual for the garment or print, ask us before running it across a full order.
- 01Wash thoughtfully
Turn the garment inside out and follow the washing conditions on its care label. Avoid bleach and harsh treatment.
- 02Dry with care
Use the drying method permitted by the garment label. High heat can stress both the fabric and the decoration.
- 03Keep direct heat away
Do not place an iron directly on the decoration. Protect the print if pressing or steaming the garment later.
- 04Store without abrasion
Keep finished garments dry and avoid prolonged rubbing, sharp folds or pressure directly across the print.

What press settings should I use for DTF?
If you already have settings that work on your press, keep using them. For reference, our workshop runs DTF at 150°C for 5 seconds at medium pressure, hot peel, with a 5-second second press and no cover sheet.
What press settings should I use for DTP?
If you already have settings that work on your press, keep using them. For reference, our workshop runs DTP at 130°C for 4 seconds at 3.0 bar, hot peel, with a 4-second second press and no cover sheet.
Do I need to test before a production run?
Yes. Press one representative garment first, using the same garment style, print location, carrier and settings planned for the batch.
Can I use the same settings for every garment?
No single setting suits every press and fabric. Use what works on your equipment, treat our workshop settings as a reference, and test unfamiliar garments first.
